SEPTA CHOOSES ELLIOTT I60 FOR ENHANCED CATENARY WORK

The Southeast Pennsylvania Transit Authority (SEPTA) recently selected the Elliott I60 for their catenary maintenance operations, marking a significant step in their commitment to efficient and safe transit infrastructure management. Working closely with SEPTA’s team, Elliott has tailored a solution that not only meets but exceeds the demanding requirements of their catenary work.

The Elliott I60 is equipped with an impressive 65 feet of working height reach, ensuring that SEPTA’s crews have the necessary elevation to tackle complex tasks with ease. A standout feature of this model is its spacious, top-mounted platform designed to accommodate two workers, providing optimal access beneath the catenary wires. This thoughtful design enhances safety and productivity, allowing crew members to work more efficiently in challenging environments.

One of the key innovations of the Elliott I60 is its telescopic boom, which boasts zero tail swing and an exceptional 52 feet of working side reach. This design feature is crucial for accessing the most difficult-to-reach areas along SEPTA’s routes, enabling the team to perform their work with unparalleled precision and safety.

Safety and reliability are paramount in catenary work, and the I60 is designed with these considerations in mind. It is insulated to 46kV (ANSI Category C), providing the necessary protection for high-voltage operations. Additionally, the unit is versatile enough to handle materials from both the main boom and the worker platform, streamlining the workflow and enhancing operational efficiency.

SEPTA’s I60 has been further customized with a range of features to meet their specific needs, including hi-rail gear, special out and down outriggers, hydraulic tool circuits, capstan winch, line body, glad hands, and specialized lighting. These customizations underscore Elliott’s commitment to building equipment that is tailored to the unique demands of our customers.

Elliott’s ability to customize equipment to meet the specific needs of our clients is a testament to our dedication to quality and innovation. The I60 for SEPTA is just one example of how we can work with you to create solutions that enhance performance, safety, and efficiency.

We look forward to talking with you to see how Elliott can build a custom solution for your operations. Whether it’s for catenary work or any other specialized needs, our team is ready to collaborate with you to design and deliver the perfect equipment for your requirements. SPOTLIGHT ON SAFETY: STAY COOL IN THE SUMMER HEAT

As summer temperatures rise to their peak, staying cool and safe becomes essential. Enjoy the summer while keeping your well-being a top priority!

Hydration and Sunscreen: Essential Summer Tips
Staying hydrated is vital for enduring the heat. On the job site, make it a habit to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Dehydration can creep up on you, leading to fatigue and heat-related illnesses. Additionally, July is UV Safety Month, emphasizing the importance of protecting ourselves from the sun’s harmful rays. Sunscreen isn’t just for leisurely activities; it’s crucial for daily use whenever your skin is exposed to the sun. By staying hydrated and using sunscreen, you can enjoy the summer while maintaining your health.

Elliott’s Commitment to Performance in High Temperatures

Our products are engineered to withstand these conditions, ensuring reliability and efficiency even in the hottest environments.
