FROM TOUCHDOWNS TO TURKEY:
EMBRACING NOVEMBER’S FEAST OF GRATITUDE
November not only brings football, family fun, and fall foliage, we also look forward to embracing holiday festivities. Beyond the turkey and pumpkin pie, this time of year offers a unique chance to practice gratitude. At Elliott, our appreciation extends beyond the harvest, encompassing our innovative team, the privilege of serving our customers, and our integral role in an evolving industry.

Gratitude is a gateway that allows us to experience more positive emotions, appreciate life’s joys, and create stronger, more meaningful relationships. For our leadership team at Elliott, each day begins by sharing something we are genuinely grateful for.
At Elliott, we’re not only thankful for our business connections but also for the opportunity to connect with each other. SPOTLIGHT ON SAFETY: NOVEMBER IS CARBON MONOXIDE AWARENESS MONTH
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless poisonous gas. Carbon monoxide is a common industrial hazard resulting from the incomplete burning of material containing carbon such as natural gas, gasoline, kerosene, oil, propane, coal, or wood. One of the most common sources of exposure in the workplace is the internal combustion engine.
Many different kinds of workers may be exposed to harmful levels of CO in warehouses, around docks, and more, including welders, garage mechanics, and machine operators.
Symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning include tightness across the chest, headache, fatigue, dizziness, confusion or nausea.
To reduce the chances of CO poisoning in the workplace, OSHA says you should:
- Report any situation to your employer that might cause CO to accumulate
- Be alert to ventilation problems
- Report complaints of dizziness, drowsiness, or nausea
- Avoid overexertion if you suspect CO poisoning and leave the contaminated area
- Tell your doctor that you may have been exposed to CO if you get sick
- Avoid the use of gas-powered engines, such as those in powered washers as well as heaters and forklifts, while working in enclosed spaces
