SPOTLIGHT ON SAFETY: IMPORTANCE OF INSPECTIONS
There is nothing worse than unplanned downtime. You can imagine the feeling—your customers are waiting for you, your crew is ready to do the job, when suddenly your equipment isn’t up to the task.
Just like humans need proper diet, exercise, rest, and an annual checkup, your equipment needs to be inspected and tested too —on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual intervals.
Following the guidelines in your operator’s manual can significantly reduce the risk of unplanned repairs and help you mitigate safety risks. Additionally, many of these are required by ANSI, ASME and OSHA. Failure to perform them can result in costly citations.
