Thanks to all who joined us at the Utility Expo in Louisville, KY September 26 - 28! We sent over 20 people from our team to engage with attendees, and we’re happy to report that everyone enjoyed Louisville, the vibrant atmosphere of the show, and the invaluable conversations we had with our customers about their needs and requirements.

This year’s Utility Expo witnessed an unprecedented surge in attendance, and our booth was buzzing with enthusiastic visitors. The buzz was largely due to the excitement surrounding our latest product offerings, including the highly anticipated D47, D100, L50, and V63, in addition to the impressive array of machines we had on display.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our rental partners, Scott Powerline, United Rentals, JDC, and Nixon Egli Equipment, for collaborating with us to showcase their exceptional machines in our booth. Together, we are committed to providing cutting-edge solutions to meet the diverse needs of our valued customers, and these partnerships are a testament to that commitment.

As we enter the last quarter of the year and many of you begin year-end planning, we want to remind you that planning ahead for any major machine purchases is more critical than ever, especially in the face of ongoing supply chain issues.

The trends and innovation we witnessed at the Utility Expo highlight the importance of staying ahead in this dynamic industry. By proactively assessing your machinery needs and working closely with reliable partners, you can ensure a smoother and more efficient transition into the future, despite the challenges that lie ahead.

MINIMIZING UNPLANNED DOWNTIME: A SMART APPROACH IN TODAY’S SUPPLY CHAIN

Nobody likes unplanned downtime. Not only is it a surprise expense, but in today’s supply chain environment, it can take an extended time to get your machine back on the road. Here are some things you can do to make sure your equipment stays in service and out of the shop.
First and foremost, reduce the risk of unplanned repairs by adhering to your daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspection routines. Annual inspections, in particular, provide the peace of mind that comes with verifying the impeccable working condition of all machine components. This proactive approach shields your business from the disruptive impact of major repairs. Furthermore, annual inspections offer the opportunity to address minor repairs and conduct routine maintenance, effectively preventing the emergence of more significant issues down the line. Notably, annual inspections are also essential to uphold your Elliott lifetime structural warranty.

Another effective strategy to curtail unplanned downtime involves careful planning for the replacement of your Elliott machine with a newer model. Typically, for an optimal ownership experience, we recommend our customers consider trading in their Elliott machine for a new one at the 6-7 year mark. While this timeframe can vary depending on your machine’s specific application and usage, it represents a point when the chassis becomes less predictable in terms of serviceability. Additionally, it serves as an opportune moment to maximize resale value. By strategically timing this transition, you can ensure your operations remain efficient and minimize disruptions in an ever-evolving supply chain environment.

SPOTLIGHT ON SAFETY: INSPECTIONS MATTER

Regular inspections collect critical information that helps operators, mechanics and fleet managers keep equipment in service and ensure jobs are completed safely.

Daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections act together to ensure all components of an aerial work platform are in working order while also providing peace of mind to owners whose businesses depend on these important assets.
